DOLE honors 90 kasambahays in Capas with service caravan

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Tarlac honored 90 domestic workers in Capas town through a one-stop service caravan in celebration of Araw ng mga Kasambahay.

The initiative delivered medical check-ups, wellness services, and access to social protection programs, recognizing the vital role kasambahays play in Filipino households.

DOLE Tarlac Officer-in-Charge Jayson Ocampo said the activity serves as a tribute to the sacrifices of domestic workers, whom he described as modern-day household heroes.

“We want to thank them because they have a huge contribution to our families and households,” Ocampo said.

With the support of partner agencies, the caravan provided free medical consultations, haircuts, and massage services. Representatives from the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG Fund also assisted participants with membership registration and benefit inquiries.

The event also featured discussions under the #ParaSaFutureNiK campaign, which aims to enhance the skills and productivity of domestic workers and help prepare them for their future.

Meanwhile, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board oriented participants on productivity improvement and the Batas Kasambahay to raise awareness of their rights and responsibilities. DOLE Tarlac also conducted financial literacy sessions to promote better financial management among the participants.

The initiative underscores DOLE’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of domestic workers while celebrating their significant role in Filipino households.
