Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC Calaguas met with officials of the Manila City Government to fast-track right-of-way (ROW) acquisition for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and LRT West Extension projects.

The meeting, held with City Planning Officer Mark De Leon and City Legal Officer Atty. Luch Gempis, focused on addressing ROW issues related to the Malolos to Blumentritt segment of the NSCR.

Calaguas was joined by project management heads Joseph Ferrer, Ralph Gonzalez, and Consuelo Cinense.

The initiative follows Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso’s earlier expression of support for the transport infrastructure projects during a meeting with Secretary Vince Dizon on July 17.

The efforts align with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to accelerate railway development and improve commuter experience across Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.
