The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a โ‚ฑ48.02-million flood control project in Barangay San Jose, Maria Aurora, Aurora, to protect residents from flooding.

The project includes a 460-meter structure along the Malupa River with concrete slope protection built on a steel sheet pile foundation to prevent erosion. Ramps were also added for safe access to the river.

โ€œBarangay San Jose is prone to flooding. This flood mitigation structure will help protect the community and strengthen their resilience against extreme weather,โ€ said DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal.

Funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act, the project also features a revetment for additional stability and grouted riprap to control erosion, ensuring long-term protection for the area.
