The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a ₱48.02-million flood control project in Barangay San Jose, Maria Aurora, Aurora, to protect residents from flooding.

The project includes a 460-meter structure along the Malupa River with concrete slope protection built on a steel sheet pile foundation to prevent erosion. Ramps were also added for safe access to the river.

“Barangay San Jose is prone to flooding. This flood mitigation structure will help protect the community and strengthen their resilience against extreme weather,” said DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal.

Funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act, the project also features a revetment for additional stability and grouted riprap to control erosion, ensuring long-term protection for the area.
