The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has dispatched assessment teams to the damaged portion of the Bukidnon-Davao City (BuDa) Road in Palacapao, Quezon, after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the agency to ensure continued inter-province connectivity for motorists and the transport of essential goods.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the immediate temporary closure of the affected section to allow for a full investigation. The DPWH said it will issue further recommendations once the assessment is complete.

Motorists are advised to avoid the BuDa Road and take the following alternate routes:

  • From Cagayan de Oro City to Tagum City: Junction Sayre Highway Poblacion Valencia City, Bukidnon via Kapalong–Talaingod–Valencia route.
  • From Camp 1, Maramag, Bukidnon to Davao City: Via Junction Bukidnon-Davao City Road to Cotabato Boundary – Carmen–Kabacan–Matalam–Kidapawan, Cotabato–Digos City, Davao.

The DPWH assured the public that updates on the repair and rehabilitation of the BuDa Road will be announced as soon as available.
