The Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) has reported a significant rise in business name registrations across Central Luzon, reflecting the region’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and growing business landscape.
According to the latest data, business name registrations in the region grew by 12.19%, from 112,916 in 2023 to 126,684 in 2024. This increase underscores the ongoing efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through various government initiatives and programs.
The rise in registrations was seen across all provinces in the region. Bulacan led the charge, registering 44,985 businesses in 2024, a 27.2% increase from 35,352 in 2023. Aurora saw a 15.7% growth, with 2,557 new registrations, while Pampanga recorded 29,165 registrations, up by 6.7% from 27,345 the previous year.
Zambales also posted a 6.6% increase with 10,248 new businesses registered, and Tarlac saw a 6.4% growth, with 12,959 registrations. Bataan and Nueva Ecija followed with a steady rise of 4.8% and 0.8%, respectively.
The consistent upward trend in business name registrations reflects the resilience of the region’s business community. Since 2021, there has been a steady increase in business registrations, with a 2.59% rise in 2022 and 7.43% in 2023.
DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon highlighted the role of the agency’s support programs, such as Negosyo Centers, entrepreneurial training, and financing assistance, in driving this growth.
“We are excited to witness such positive growth in business name registrations. This surge is a testament to the determination and resilience of our MSMEs, who continue to be the backbone of our regional economy,” Dizon said.
DTI-3 remains committed to fostering an enabling environment for business growth. Through collaborations with local government units, private sectors, and other stakeholders, the agency seeks to promote innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity within the MSME sector.
“Our aim is to inspire more individuals to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations while strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses across the region,” Dizon added.
With its continued initiatives, DTI is optimistic about sustaining the growth in business registrations into 2025. The department encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to utilize the services offered by the Negosyo Centers throughout the region.
