The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac conducted a Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Caravan in Pura, Tarlac.
It offered basic necessities, prime commodities and various school supplies at significantly reduced prices.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said the Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Caravan promotes economic development and fosters support to consumers by providing practical and essential consumer goods at their money’s worth.
“We hold the annual Diskwento Caravan in different towns. We are thankful because this is the first time we conducted this program in this town,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Mayor John Paul Balmores underscored that participation in similar activities is beneficial for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as it can widen their network, and promote their products under the One Town, One Product Program.
Balmores also expressed his support to local MSMEs with the assistance of DTI.
Aside from the Diskwento Caravan, DTI organized a Consumer Awareness and Responsiveness Education Seminar to empower and educate the Pura residents as consumers.
It featured topics on the rights and responsibilities of consumers in different practical scenarios. (PIA Region 3-Tarlac | Trixie Joy B. Manalili )
