DTI-3 seeks 2025 Bagwis Award Nominees

The Department of Trade and Industry – Region 3 (DTI-3) is now accepting nominations for the 2025 DTI Bagwis Award, a prestigious recognition for businesses that promote consumer rights and responsible business practices.

The Bagwis Award honors establishments that adhere to ethical business conduct, provide quality products, offer excellent customer service, and comply with fair trade and consumer protection laws. It also recognizes companies with strong corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Retail businesses such as supermarkets, department stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, and DTI-accredited service shops are encouraged to apply or be nominated through the DTI Regional Office. Local government units, chambers of commerce, and consumer organizations may also submit nominations.

DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon urges Central Luzon businesses to participate, emphasizing the importance of ethical practices and consumer welfare.

“We invite business owners to join the DTI Bagwis Program, which not only builds consumer trust but also serves as a mark of excellence in product quality and service,” Dizon said.

Awardees will be given Gold, Silver, or Bronze Bagwis Seals. Bronze is for businesses that comply with fair trade laws and have a consumer welfare desk. Silver goes to those who meet Bronze standards plus demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility. The Gold Award is for those who exceed compliance and implement exceptional CSR programs.

DTI-3 will also monitor awardees to ensure they maintain high standards of consumer protection.

Businesses interested in applying can contact their nearest DTI Provincial Office or reach out to the Consumer Protection Division of DTI-3 for more information.
