The Municipality of Dinalungan reported zero casualties after Super Typhoon Uwan made landfall in the area, bringing intense winds and heavy rains across Aurora province.
Mayor Joel Vargas assured residents that the local government is coordinating closely with national agencies to restore essential services and deliver aid.
“Hindi natin pababayaan ang ating mga kababayan. Patuloy ang ating pagtutok sa bawat barangay para matiyak na may makakain, may malinis na tubig, at may matutuluyan ang lahat. Sama-sama tayong babangon, Dinalungan,” he said.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), 2,522 families — or 7,325 individuals — were affected, with 1,621 still staying in evacuation centers.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed 1,000 family food packs, with 3,000 more on the way, while the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and NGCP continue restoration and clearing operations to reopen roads and stabilize power supply.
Recovery and relief efforts are ongoing as the community works together toward full rehabilitation.
