A total of 160 students in Tarlac attended a seminar on entrepreneurship organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The activity, in partnership with SM City Tarlac, seeks to develop more young entrepreneurs in the province.
DTI Tarlac Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Ana Marie Tabamo said the seminar featured two Tarlaqueñas who are successful in their respectively fields namely Potter’s Hand Processed Food owner Merafe Lee Pineda and Fairlane Young Achievers School Administrator Corazon Samson.
“They shared the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, emphasizing that hard work and faith are among the keys to the success of their respective businesses,” she added.
Tabamo likewise discussed Entrepreneurial Mind-setting which include the characteristics of an entrepreneur, and considerations in putting up a business.
She also recognized the contributions of women entrepreneurs in the local community and economy.
“We take pride in our successful women entrepreneurs in Tarlac who are also students, mothers and even employees,” she emphasized.
The activity is in line with the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration and its sub-theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan!” (PIA 3)
