Global Spanish brand debuts in PH with launch of Torres 5 Light

Spain-based spirits brand Torres has officially entered the Philippine market through a distribution partnership with Tanduay, marking its local debut with the introduction of Torres 5 Light and other premium products from its established portfolio.

Tanduay President and CEO Lucio Tan III said the partnership brings together two heritage brands with a shared commitment to quality and growth.

“The arrival of Torres in the Philippines marks the coming together of two great houses united by a commitment to excellence. This partnership reflects our vision of offering Filipino consumers world-class spirits,” Tan said.

Torres Spirits Global Managing Director Christian Visalli expressed optimism about the brand’s entry into the local market, noting the company’s confidence in its partnership with Tanduay.

“We are proud to bring the rich heritage of Spanish brandy to the Philippines. With Tanduay as our distributor, we are confident that Torres products will reach consumers who appreciate exceptional spirits rooted in authentic Spanish tradition,” Visalli said.

A Spanish Brandy Tailored for Filipino Consumers
Leading Torres’ Philippine lineup is Torres 5 Light, a lighter and more approachable expression crafted from quality grapes and aged in oak barrels using the traditional Solera method. Designed to suit local drinking occasions, the brandy delivers a refined yet accessible profile.

Best enjoyed over ice, Torres 5 Light has a clear medium-gold color with delicate aromas of grape, dried fruits, and vanilla. It offers a smooth, subtly sweet taste with notes of prune, grape, and vanilla. Bottled at 25% alcohol by volume, the product balances heritage craftsmanship with modern appeal.

Torres 5 Light will be distributed nationwide, alongside other Torres premium offerings that cater to a wide range of consumers—from young, adventurous drinkers to more refined and sophisticated palates.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship
The Torres family has cultivated vineyards in Penedès, Spain since the 16th century. Casa Torres was founded in 1870 by Jaime Torres Vendrell, initially focusing on winemaking. The company entered brandy production in 1928 when Juan Torres Casals began aging brandy in oak barrels made from select white wines of Penedès.

Torres 5 Light will be available at leading supermarkets and grocery outlets nationwide, while other Torres products are expected to roll out in the first quarter of the year.
