Globe equips over 3,000 atudents with Digital Safety Skills

In February, over 3,000 students from 15 schools across the Philippines participated in Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) Learning Sessions, equipping them with essential skills in digital safety, cybersecurity, and responsible AI use. This initiative supports Globe’s ongoing Safer Internet campaign, aligning with the Safer Internet Day theme “Digital Bayanihan, para Kabataang Ligtas at Protektado Online.”

Globe’s commitment to responsible digital citizenship was demonstrated through volunteer efforts from its employees during the DTP rollout. Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, emphasized the company’s dedication to creating a safer digital space: “By educating the youth on cybersecurity and responsible AI, we empower them to make informed choices and protect themselves online.”

For this year’s Safer Internet Month, Globe partnered with several key organizations, including the Department of Education, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and various child rights groups, to raise awareness and reinforce digital safety practices.

The DTP sessions offered hands-on education in cybersecurity, digital responsibility, and AI ethics. Participating institutions included Computer Arts Technological College, Rosemont Hills Montessori College, and University of Southeastern Philippines, among others. In addition to schools, Globe also extended digital safety training to select Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) employees.

To further promote awareness, Globe collaborated with its Globe of Good influencers, who shared valuable content on topics like preventing online sexual abuse, protecting personal information, and reporting scams.

Globe continues its efforts to strengthen digital safety through education and partnerships, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on sustainable communities and global partnerships.
