At the height of Typhoon Carina, Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) President Terry Carlos convened the Committees on CSR, Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation, and Membership Development to initiate plans to assist Kabalens affected by floods brought about by Typhoon Carina.
PamCham Director for Infrastructure Development Rene Romero, reached out to Provincial Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda to first request an assessment of the flood situation in Pampanga and then inquire how PamCham can assist in responding to the needs of the affected families.
Romero said,“I just spoke with Gov. Delta and Ms. Angie, who are currently in Macabebe. I asked them about the general situation in Pampanga, and according to them, things are still manageable.”
According to Romero, Governor Delta “is asking PamCham to ensure that our employees are well-supported and can continue to work and receive their pay during these rainy days. If our employees are unable to work and earn their wages, they will struggle to buy food and other necessities, which will exacerbate the situation. By taking care of our employees, we are already providing significant help to the Provincial Government.”
Romero furthered, “I salute the Governor for always being concerned about the employees in the business sector of our province.”
