Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has expressed his gratitude to the City of Makati for extending financial assistance amounting to ₱1-million to the Kapampangans affected by Typhoons Egay and Falcon, which struck the country in 2023.
During the PDRRMC 2nd-quarter meeting held at KICC on Friday, Gov. Delta presented a certificate of appreciation to Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, who attended the event with former president and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
“On behalf of the Kapampangans, maraming salamat po. Nakapagbibigay kami ng tulong sa ibang provinces hit by disasters, pero kapag kami naman po ang nalagay sa ganung sitwasyon, masarap po sa pakiramdam na nakakatanggap din kami ng tulong from other cities or provinces,” said Gov. Delta.
Mayor Binay, on her part, thanked the governor for the warm welcome and acknowledged the support Pampanga has provided to other provinces affected by various disasters, such as Batangas, Cagayan, and Mindoro.
According to Angelina Blanco, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer, the donation will be used for the relief and recovery of the affected populations.
Aside from Makati City, Davao also donated ₱1-million and Korean Community in Central Luzon ₱500,000, which will be used for the provision of financial assistance to 55 households that suffered partial to total damages during the typhoons. —Jasmine Jaso/GO
