Gov. Nanay takes oath as Executive Vice President of the League of Provinces of the Philippines

Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda formally took her oath as Executive Vice President of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), alongside other newly elected officers, in a ceremony led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang Palace on September 3, 2025.

In his message, President Marcos underscored the duty of LPP officials to serve the people with integrity, ensure the proper implementation of government projects, and expose irregularities. He also recognized the support of the country’s 82 provincial governments in advancing digitalization, agriculture, and disaster response, while directing the nationwide enforcement of Zero Balance Billing in all Department of Health (DOH) facilities.

📌 Over the next three years, the LPP will focus on:
✔️ Strengthening LGU consultation in national infrastructure projects
✔️ Addressing solid waste management and flooding concerns
✔️ Securing bigger funds for disaster preparedness
✔️ Amending the Local Government Code of 1991 to enhance LGU fiscal autonomy
✔️ Improving implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act and social services

The LPP reaffirmed its commitment to work with the national government in delivering fair, transparent, and practical solutions for provinces and local communities across the country.
