Grab Philippines is spotlighting Pampanga as a key growth hub in Luzonโs digital economy, citing its rapid adoption of the superapp as a catalyst for local livelihoods, small business expansion, and inclusive economic development outside Metro Manila.
Since its initial launch in the province in 2019 with GrabCar, Grab has steadily broadened its offerings with GrabFood and GrabExpress in 2020, followed by GrabMart in 2021. Today, the platform operates across 14 cities and municipalities in Pampanga, with GrabCar servicing the entire province.

Over the past five years, Pampanga has become a major operational center for Grab in Luzon, home to nearly half of the regionโs 20,000-plus driver- and delivery-partners. It also supports a growing number of micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that rely on Grab to extend market reach and improve their earnings.
Speaking at News @ Hues, Pampanga Press Club’s monthly forum staged at Hues Cafe and in partnership with Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Grab Philippines Vice President for Cities CJ Lacsican said โItโs no longer just about rides or food deliveries. Weโve seen part-timers become full-time entrepreneurs, drivers acquire homes, and local merchants use AI-powered tools to grow smarter. Pampanga shows what happens when technology and community ambition align.โ
Grabโs presence in the province has become more than just a convenienceโit has powered real, measurable gains in digital access and economic participation.
To celebrate this progress, Grab hosted โSuper Takbo,โ a community fun run at Clark Parade Grounds that drew over 3,000 attendees, including driver-partners, merchants, and app users. The event marked a decade of grassroots milestones and underscored what Grab calls โparticipatory progress.โ
โEvery order, every ride, every delivery strengthens a local value chain,โ Lacsican added. โPampanga has embraced that chainโand itโs fueling real progress across families, businesses, and communities.โ
With similar โSuper Takboโ events planned in Iloilo and Davao, Grab reaffirms its focus on empowering regional ecosystems and spreading platform-enabled prosperity beyond the capital. In places like Pampanga, that future is already taking shape.
