A group of talented local artists from Sining Mabalacat unveiled a stunning mural as a centerpiece of this year’s Balacat Festival, showcasing the city’s cultural heritage and modern growth.
The mural, measuring 8 feet by 48 feet, was painted using vibrant acrylic colors and tells the story of Mabalacat’s transformation from its founding in 1712 to its rise as one of Central Luzon’s most progressive cities. The artwork beautifully captures the city’s historical roots while highlighting its current status as a bustling hub for commerce, housing the Clark International Airport and Clark Freeport.

The mural was unveiled during the festival by Mabalacat Mayor Cris Garbo, alongside members of the Sangguniang Bayan and other city officials. Board Member Winwin Garbo, who requested the mural, was also present for the unveiling.
Leading the artistic team behind this masterpiece was Sining Mabalacat founder Dodjie Aguinaldo, with the support of fellow artists Rommel Siron, Jonathan Dela Cruz, and Bonifacio Mangune, who helped bring the project to life.
Founded in 2012 by Aguinaldo, media practitioner Noel Tulabut, and cultural advocate June Magbalot, Sining Mabalacat has been a driving force in the city’s growing arts and culture scene. The mural is a testament to their ongoing efforts to celebrate Mabalacat’s heritage while looking toward a bright future.
This year’s Balacat Festival, which celebrates Mabalacat’s vibrant culture, was further enriched by the contribution of local artists who continue to elevate the city’s rich cultural identity.
