In his speech, Mayor Lazatin highlighted the administration’s achievements, including maintaining stable business and property tax rates while expanding the city’s budget, made possible by the consistent tax payments from local businesses.
Advancing Sustainability and Public Safety
The mayor also emphasized ongoing sustainability efforts, such as the installation of solar panels in government offices, barangays, and primary healthcare facilities. Currently, 1,500 streetlights across the city are powered by solar energy.
On public safety, Mayor Lazatin noted the expansion of the city’s CCTV network, which is now monitored 24/7, and the launch of the Angeleño Alerto 24/7 Mobile App – POGI (Personal On-Call Guard Interface), aimed at improving emergency response.
Ongoing Infrastructure and Healthcare Projects
Major infrastructure projects are underway, including the conversion of Belen Homesite Elementary School into the city’s first fully solar-powered public school. The seven-story expansion of Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) is also in progress, which will enhance healthcare services in the city. Additionally, six new primary healthcare facilities are being built, bringing the total to 15 once completed.
“As I approach the final five months of my term, I assure you that my dedication to providing quality service will not waver,” Mayor Lazatin pledged to the attendees.
He concluded his speech by extending his best wishes for the Chinese New Year and reiterating Angeles City’s commitment to continued growth through collaboration and innovation.
