Mayor Carmelo โ€œPogiโ€ Lazatin, Jr. congratulated the creators of the short documentary Siete Palabras for winning the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2024.

Directed by Jayson Gantan Pabalan and produced by Nicanor Abelardo Soriano, the documentary highlights a century-old tradition in Barangay Lourdes Northwest, celebrating the communityโ€™s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Mayor Lazatin praised the team for bringing international recognition to Angeles Cityโ€™s history and promoting local traditions. โ€œTheir work showcases the beauty of our culture and resilience. I commend them for representing Angeles City with creativity, hard work, and dedication,โ€ Lazatin said.

The film, which focuses on the community’s religious observance, was recognized for its storytelling and for preserving the legacy of faith and unity in Barangay LNW.

Through Mayor Lazatinโ€™s programs, the city government continues to support artistic projects that promote the cityโ€™s heritage and inspire future talents to shine on the global stage.
