Angeles City Mayor Carmelo โ€œPogiโ€ Lazatin, Jr., accompanied by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, on July 30, 2024 handed out certificates of recognition and cash incentives to 101 student-athletes of City College of Angeles who won in the recent Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) Region III Sports and Cultural Competition.

โ€œCongratulations student-athletes for bringing recognition and pride to Angeles City,โ€ Lazatin said.

Angeles City has garnered 12 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals during the said annual sporting event.

CCA captured the gold medals in menโ€™s volleyball, menโ€™s basketball 5×5, menโ€™s basketball 3×3, esports, chess womenโ€™s team, chess board 2, badminton mixed doubles, folk dance, contemporary dance, freestyle dance, choir competition, vocal duet competition, and Ms. ALCU.

While CCA also finished second in vocal duet competition, and chess womenโ€™s board 1.

Bronze medals were also awarded to Mr. ALCU, hiphop competition, badminton womenโ€™s doubles, badminton womenโ€™s single, chess menโ€™s team, and chess menโ€™s board 4.

Each team received โ‚ฑ30,000; โ‚ฑ10,000 for the director, โ‚ฑ5,000 each for the coaches, and โ‚ฑ3,000 each for the assistant coaches.
