The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) has officially opened the newly constructed Abacan Bridge, providing a crucial link to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in Angeles City.

Spanning 70.7 meters, the bridge was built under the DPWH’s Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) initiative. It connects Barangay Ninoy Aquino and Barangay Pulung Maragul with a robust design featuring bored pile foundations, piers, abutments, and a reinforced deck slab.

In addition to the bridge itself, the project includes approach roads, intersections, and pedestrian-friendly features such as sidewalks and guardrails, ensuring safer and more accessible routes. These improvements support economic growth, bolster emergency response, and aid in the city’s continued urban development.

Now fully operational, the Abacan Bridge offers a more efficient travel route for both residents and businesses, promoting smoother mobility throughout the city. This development underscores the DPWH’s commitment to sustainable urban growth and enhancing quality of life for the community.
