OVER ₱204-M WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED IN BULACAN DRUG BUST

Authorities seized over ₱204 million worth of suspected shabu in a major anti-drug operation in Norzagaray, Bulacan on the afternoon of May 15, 2025. Three suspects were arrested, while one remains at large.

The operation took place at around 1:30 PM at the Payogi Leisure Hub along Old Barrio Road in Barangay Minuyan. It was jointly carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Special Enforcement Service (SES), PDEA Regional Office III – Bulacan Provincial Office, Norzagaray Municipal Police Station, and San Jose Del Monte City Police Station.

The arrested individuals were identified only by their aliases: “Jessie,” 44, from Cavite; “Tina,” 36, from Quezon City; and “Jess,” 21, also from Cavite. Authorities are still pursuing alias “Tongo,” a suspected Chinese national and a high-value target (HVT) who escaped during the operation.

Seized from the suspects were approximately 30 kilograms of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱204 million. Authorities also recovered marked money, identification cards, mobile phones, and a vehicle.

Investigators are now looking into possible links between this group and a previous anti-drug operation conducted on May 13, 2025, in Angeles City, Pampanga, where ₱680.4 million worth of shabu was confiscated. Authorities noted similarities in the packaging and method of drug distribution in both cases, which occurred just days apart and within the same region.

Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen. Jean S. Fajardo emphasized that the back-to-back operations underscore the strengthened coordination between the PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon.

“These consecutive operations are proof of our strong partnership and cooperation. We will not stop until we dismantle all drug syndicates operating in the region. We are stepping up our anti-drug campaign across Central Luzon,” Fajardo said in a statement.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious drug-related activities to authorities.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Follow-up operations are ongoing to track down other individuals involved in the illegal drug network in the region.
