Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Central Luzon Regional Director William Beltran lauded Pampanga Press Club for “steadfastly upholding its reputation as a credible, relevant, and reliable source of news and information over the decades.”
Beltran said this is a testament to PPC’S commitment to journalistic excellence and its enduring service to the public.
“We have witnessed the PPC’s remarkable evolution, adapting to the ever-changing media landscape. Your resilience, bolstered by an openness to positive and beneficial change, has allowed you to navigate these challenging times successfully,” Beltran said, as he congratulated PPC on the upcoming celebration of its 75th anniversary this November.
Beltran said PPC’S Basic Journalism Training, which was launched earlier this year as part of the Club’s anniversary celebration, is particularly commendable.
“It marks a significant milestone, as you mentor the next generation of journalists, instilling in them the values of credibility, truth-telling, and reliability amidst the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation in this digital age. In today’s era, where the internet and social media have empowered nearly everyone to create and disseminate content, your role as media mentors is crucial. This initiative will undoubtedly have a lasting impact,” he said.
“Please know that the PIA greatly values our collaboration, working together to serve our communities through the accurate, timely and relevant information we disseminate, and for this, we are deeply grateful and proud,” he added.
The PIA regional director assured the men and women of PPC that their partnership and friendship remain strong, as they look forward to continued growth together as sincere and empathetic purveyors of information.
