Pope Francis, 88, is showing continued improvement following his hospitalization for a severe respiratory infection, the Vatican confirmed.

Admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on February 14 due to double pneumonia, the Pope’s condition has stabilized, and he is responding well to treatment.

Medical assessments indicate that he is no longer in immediate danger, though he will remain under close medical supervision. Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis has remained engaged in church activities, even participating in a spiritual retreat via videoconference.

The Vatican assured that while his recovery is progressing, caution remains necessary. Given his age and prior health concerns, his recuperation is expected to be gradual.

Supporters from around the world continue to offer prayers and well-wishes for the Holy Father’s swift and full recovery.
