Pampanga PPO destroys over 1,200 illegal mufflers

The Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO) disposed of more than 1,200 confiscated illegal mufflers on February 23, 2026, as part of its intensified campaign to promote road safety and reduce noise pollution across the province.

The activity was led by Provincial Director Eugene M. Marcelo, who underscored the importance of maintaining peace and order in local communities.

Authorities said the mufflers were seized during various law enforcement operations targeting motorcycle riders using excessively noisy exhaust systems in violation of existing regulations. Police noted that loud mufflers have long been a source of disturbance in residential areas, affecting the quality of life of residents.

Marcelo emphasized that the initiative aims to restore tranquility in neighborhoods and ensure safer public spaces for motorists and pedestrians alike. He added that the campaign reflects the police force’s commitment to respond to community concerns and uphold public safety.

The disposal forms part of the Philippine National Police’s broader Philippine National Police reform thrust under the #BagongPNPparasaBagongPilipinas program, which promotes “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

The Pampanga PPO reiterated its call for motorists to comply with traffic and vehicle regulations to help build a quieter, safer, and more orderly community.
