Prime Waste Solutions (PWS) Pampanga and Prime Infra Foundation spearheaded a cleanup drive in Barangay Planas on August 1, 2025, gathering about 1,000 kilograms of waste from creeks near the barangay hall and Planas National High School.

The effort, joined by 129 volunteers from DENR–MENRO, Barangay Planas Council, Planas NHS, and local residents, aimed to boost community waste management and highlight the importance of proper disposal.

Barangay Captain Alfer Nacu stressed that clean surroundings are vital in preventing diseases like dengue during the rainy season. DENR-MENRO’s Engr. Francis Hernandez also underscored waste segregation at source as key to reducing landfill volumes, lauding the private sector’s role in protecting the environment.

To sustain future initiatives, PWS Pampanga and Prime Infra Foundation turned over cleanup tools and waterproof boots to the barangay and DENR-MENRO.

PWS Pampanga operates the only large-scale materials recovery facility in Luzon, promoting waste sorting, segregation, and recycling to maximize resource recovery.
