Fans of Middle-earth are in for a rare cinematic treat as SM Cinema brings back โ€œThe Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ringโ€ Extended Edition to the big screen for a one-weekend-only engagement in celebration of the filmโ€™s 25th anniversary.

From January 23 to 25, moviegoers can reliveโ€”or discover for the first timeโ€”the epic that launched Peter Jacksonโ€™s legendary trilogy. The extended edition features more than 30 minutes of additional footage not seen in the original 2001 theatrical release, stretching the runtime to an immersive 3 hours and 28 minutes.

The special screening will be shown in 40 SM Cinema branches nationwide, allowing fans across the country to join the Fellowshipโ€™s journey. Participating theaters include key locations in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, among them SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM City Clark, SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Iloilo, SM Lanang, and SM CDO Downtown.

Tickets are available via the SM Cinema website, mobile app, and ticket booths. Screenings will be shown in regular cinemas and SM Directors Club, offering audiences breathtaking high-definition visuals and immersive sound worthy of Middle-earthโ€™s sweeping landscapes and legendary battles.

Whether itโ€™s a long-awaited return for devoted fans or a first cinematic introduction for a new generation, this exclusive weekend promises more than just a movie screening. With larger-than-life visuals, powerful sound design, and curated in-cinema moments that celebrate the world of Tolkien, SM Cinema turns this limited engagement into a shared adventureโ€”one that brings the magic of Middle-earth back where it belongs: on the big screen.
