SBMA receives Special Citation for advancing paperless systems

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) has been awarded a Special Citation and Certificate of Recognition by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) for its “Document Management System: A Paperless Solution for Collaboration.”

SBMA Office Services Department (OSD) OIC Manager Jaime Menor Jr. accepted the citation from DAP President and CEO Leocadio S. Sebastian during the 2025 Powering Productivity event held on November 11 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.

The recognition highlights SBMA’s achievement in saving one million sheets of paper through the digitalization of document routing and inter-office communication across 46 departments. The initiative positions SBMA as one of the country’s more proactive government agencies in adopting paperless processes.

This year’s Powering Productivity event, themed “Powering Productivity: Unlocking Ideas, Enabling Innovation,” served as the culminating activity for two programs under the DAP Center of Excellence on Public-Sector Productivity. The gathering brought together students and public-sector partners to celebrate creative solutions, featuring pitching competitions and an awarding ceremony for outstanding entries in the 2025 Productivity Challenge.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and collective action in driving productivity and modernization in the Philippine public sector.
