STAYING SAFE & DRY THIS RAINY SEASON

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀

Riding a motorcycle during the rainy season can be challenging and requires extra caution to stay safe and dry. So, you now know some of the best practices for staying safe while riding your motorcycle in the rain. But what about taking care of your motorcycle this rainy season?

While motorcycles are designed to endure bad weather, prolonged exposure to rain can still lead to long-term wear and tear for your two-wheeled companion. To help you protect your motorcycle, below are a few tips that you should keep in mind!

Ensure your tires have enough tread to grip the wet road. Rainfall can make the road more slippery, in part due to the emergence of residuals like oil and grease from the pavement. This is why keeping your tires in tip-top shape is very important this rainy season, as a healthy set ensures ample grip and good traction on wet roads, significantly reducing your chances of slipping.

Plan your route to avoid areas prone to flooding. Riding through deep water can be dangerous and may damage your motorcycle. Water and moisture can damage your motorcycle in so many ways: they can cause your electrical system to short-circuit, contaminate your fuel, and even lead to rust. To prevent these, clean your bike regularly to get rid of moisture and ensure ample lubrication where applicable. Make sure to also keep your fuel tank cap tightly sealed at all times.

Wet roads can increase stopping distances, so you need reliable brakes. On a wet and slippery road, your brakes can save your life. This is why it is important to make sure that your braking system is in excellent condition especially this rainy season. Regularly check your brake lines and brake pads for damage and replace them if needed. Make sure to also bleed accumulated air out of your brake lines regularly and replace your brake fluid according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Give your motorcycle some tender loving care especially this rainy season so you can stay safe on the road while prolonging the life of your vehicle!
