Safety Tips for Christmas

Four (4) days before Christmas, the Central Luzon Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. issues safety tips to remind the public to be extra cautious so as not to be victimized by lawless elements.

Below are the safety tips to be undertaken by the public:

๐Ÿ“ŒAvoid showing large sums of cash.
๐Ÿ“ŒKeep your phone with you at all times.
๐Ÿ“ŒWalk in well-lit areas.
๐Ÿ“ŒAttend parties with trusted friends.
๐Ÿ“ŒDon’t leave drinks unattended.
๐Ÿ“ŒBe cautious at ATMs and in crowded areas.
๐Ÿ“ŒTravel in groups or pairs.
๐Ÿ“ŒStay alert and aware of your surroundings.
๐Ÿ“ŒTrust your instincts.
๐Ÿ“ŒKeep belongings close and be aware of potential threats.
๐Ÿ“ŒPlan safe routes and avoid shortcuts.
๐Ÿ“ŒHold handbags securely.
๐Ÿ“ŒGet escorted home if out late.

๐Ÿ“ŒKeep your home exterior well-lit.
๐Ÿ“ŒVerify service personnel with identification.
๐Ÿ“ŒDon’t leave doors open or ajar.
๐Ÿ“ŒIf you suspect a break-in, don’t enter; call the police.
๐Ÿ“ŒUse sturdy padlocks on doors and gates.
๐Ÿ“ŒCall police hotline numbers if you suspect a break-in.
๐Ÿ“ŒTeach children not to disclose information about home occupants.
๐Ÿ“ŒSecure one part of the premises if working elsewhere.
๐Ÿ“ŒInstruct children not to allow strangers into the house.

๐Ÿ“ŒDon’t leave valuables exposed in vehicles.
๐Ÿ“ŒNever drink and drive.
๐Ÿ“ŒLock your vehicle when leaving and take the keys.
๐Ÿ“ŒBe cautious around your parked vehicle, especially at night.
๐Ÿ“ŒPark in well-lit areas.
๐Ÿ“ŒStay alert at stoplights and intersections.
๐Ÿ“ŒIf followed, drive to a police station or crowded area.
๐Ÿ“ŒIf someone enters your vehicle unexpectedly, exit quickly.
๐Ÿ“ŒIf your vehicle is bumped from behind by another car, and you are suspicious, do not get out. Direct the other driver to follow you and proceed to the nearest police station.
๐Ÿ“ŒAlways wear your seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion.
