Four (4) days before Christmas, the Central Luzon Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. issues safety tips to remind the public to be extra cautious so as not to be victimized by lawless elements.
Below are the safety tips to be undertaken by the public:

๐Avoid showing large sums of cash.
๐Keep your phone with you at all times.
๐Walk in well-lit areas.
๐Attend parties with trusted friends.
๐Don’t leave drinks unattended.
๐Be cautious at ATMs and in crowded areas.
๐Travel in groups or pairs.
๐Stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
๐Trust your instincts.
๐Keep belongings close and be aware of potential threats.
๐Plan safe routes and avoid shortcuts.
๐Hold handbags securely.
๐Get escorted home if out late.

๐Keep your home exterior well-lit.
๐Verify service personnel with identification.
๐Don’t leave doors open or ajar.
๐If you suspect a break-in, don’t enter; call the police.
๐Use sturdy padlocks on doors and gates.
๐Call police hotline numbers if you suspect a break-in.
๐Teach children not to disclose information about home occupants.
๐Secure one part of the premises if working elsewhere.
๐Instruct children not to allow strangers into the house.

๐Be cautious around your parked vehicle, especially at night.

๐Stay alert at stoplights and intersections.
๐If followed, drive to a police station or crowded area.
๐If someone enters your vehicle unexpectedly, exit quickly.
๐If your vehicle is bumped from behind by another car, and you are suspicious, do not get out. Direct the other driver to follow you and proceed to the nearest police station.
๐Always wear your seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion.
