The SQIT is a special program that aims to strengthen the tourism industry by providing capacity building for productivity improvement and competitiveness.

According to DOLE Aurora Field Office Chief Antonio Sicat Jr., such programs are important to the participants because they will improve the skills and quality of service towards a more developed industry in the province.

Central Luzon Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Secretary Kenneth Liza said this will increase the service delivery level of surfing instructors and make their ranks professional.

Aside from the capacity building program, the participating surfing instructors also received rash guards and first aid kits from DOLE to enhance their professional image.

There will be another capacity building program for the remaining 64 surfing instructors. (PIA 3)
