The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has encouraged Metro Manila residents planning to travel for the long Undas weekend to take advantage of the low traffic levels on both the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
In a briefing for the “Special Report: Undas 2024” organized by the Presidential Communications Office, TRB spokesperson Julius Corpuz noted that current traffic volumes on both expressways are surprisingly low, defying historical trends.
“We expected a peak in vehicular traffic early Friday, but this has not occurred,” Corpuz said. “NLEX and SLEX remain clear, so those with plans to leave Metro Manila should seize this opportunity.”
He suggested that many travelers may have departed earlier than usual due to the recent bad weather or have decided to remain in the city.
Corpuz assured the public that all security protocols are in place, with Quick Response Teams stationed throughout NLEX and SLEX to provide assistance to motorists.
