Tarlac hosts 3rd BizConEx to Boost MSME growth and innovation

In a continued effort to support and empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Tarlac Provincial MSME Development Council (PSMEDC) held the 3rd Tarlac Business Conference and Expo (BizConEx) on July 18-19 at the Diwa ng Tarlac Convention Center.

The two-day gathering brought together exhibitors, students, entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from national and local government units, all united in promoting local enterprise development across the province.

Among the notable attendees were Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Tarlac President Aileen Chan, PCCI North Luzon Area Vice President Maria Amalia Cayanan, DTI Region III Director Edna Dizon, DTI Undersecretary for Regional Operations Blesila Lantayona, and Tarlac Governor Christian Yap.

Cayanan emphasized that BizConEx provides a vital platform for MSMEs to showcase products and services, build networks, and expand their market visibility. Aside from the trade fair, this year’s BizConEx featured learning sessions on key topics such as franchising, Halal certification, artificial intelligence (AI), and photography for marketing.

A new addition to the event was the BizConsulta booth—an initiative designed to offer direct assistance to business owners. PCCI Executive Director Maiko Pascual explained that BizConsulta aims to guide entrepreneurs on starting businesses, government compliance, taxation, and corporate requirements.

“Business owners can visit the BizConsulta booth if they have ideas they want to pursue or need help navigating regulations. They can get expert advice right on the spot,” Pascual said, encouraging MSMEs to take advantage of such platforms to grow and scale their businesses.

For students like Irving Ramos, an entrepreneurship major, BizConEx also serves as an inspiration. “It’s a valuable learning experience for students like me who hope to start our own businesses someday,” he shared.

The PCCI also announced that Tarlac will host the 2025 PCCI North Luzon Business Conference, reinforcing the province’s growing role as a hub for enterprise and innovation.
