The school was named in honor of Tatang Tomas Garcia Guintu, an ortelano or farmer, teacher, and former school head of Sua Elementary School. Known in the community for his wisdom, humility, and dedication to service, Guintu served as an inspiration to many generations of Masantoleños.
The establishment of Tomas Garcia Guintu Senior High School as an independent institution represents a significant step toward strengthening the quality of education and expanding learning opportunities for the youth of Masantol.
