World-class Multi-Sports Hub to rise in New Clark City

A new home for Philippine sports is set to rise as the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Group, moves forward with the development of a 20-hectare world-class multi-sports hub aimed at strengthening training opportunities for Filipino athletes.

PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio, together with PSC Commissioners, recently met with Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez and BCDA officials to discuss plans for the sports complex, which is envisioned to serve as a future-ready training base for athletes outside Metro Manila.

The inspection included the athletic dormitories, which will serve as the first PSC facility in the area, as well as an allocated 10-hectare site for a proposed tennis center. Additional venues for sports such as bowling, basketball, and swimming are also being considered as part of the development plan.

The project supports the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to strengthen grassroots sports development nationwide. The New Clark City hub will complement the recently launched Bukidnon Regional Training Center, further expanding access to elite training facilities across the country.

Through the establishment of regional training centers, the government aims to widen talent identification efforts across provinces and provide aspiring Filipino athletes with greater opportunities to excel on the national and international stage.
