Governor Christian Tell Yap personally visited residents in Barangays Caramutan (La Paz) and Balayang (Victoria) on November 10, leading the distribution of relief assistance to families affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-Wong).
Northern and eastern parts of Tarlac Province were earlier placed under Typhoon Wind Signal No. 4 on November 9, according to PAGASA.
In a Facebook post, Gov. Yap expressed gratitude to volunteers, responders, and local officials for their tireless service:
Prior to the typhoon’s onslaught, Gov. Yap and Vice Governor Estelita Aquino convened the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) along with other agencies to ensure preparedness and coordinated response.
While Super Typhoon Uwan caused severe damage in Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Mountain Province, and La Union, only minimal damage was reported in Tarlac Province.
