The highly anticipated MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025 officially roared to life today with a grand opening ceremony at the historic Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte, setting the stage for a week-long celebration of cycling excellence.

The race runs from April 24 to May 1, 2025, spanning key regions of Luzon in a thrilling test of endurance, skill, and unity.
Ilocos Norte Mayor Shiela Gallano welcomed participants and guests, followed by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc who underscored the eventโs role in revitalizing regional tourism and pride.

Arrey Perez, Chief Regulatory Officer of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) and Executive Director of the Tour, emphasized the power of partnerships in bringing large-scale sporting events to life.

One of the dayโs highlights was the formal introduction of the 17 competing teams, presented by Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Bambol Tolentinoโshowcasing a mix of homegrown talents and international contenders.
In a heartfelt tribute, DuckWorld PH Chairman Patrick Gregorio led a moment of remembrance for the late Alberto Lina, whose passion and vision once guided Philippine cycling.
Capping off the ceremony, MPTC President Jose Lim thanked all partners, organizers, athletes, and spectators, calling the event more than just a race.
โThis tour is more than just a raceโitโs a celebration of Filipino resilience, determination, and unity through sport,โ Lim said.
As the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025 officially begins, it carries with it the spirit of revival and a promise of sporting greatness across the nationโs roads.
