14th Regional Travel Fair in Roxas City ends Year with P348-M in Sales Leads

Roxas City, Capiz, recently hosted the grand finale of the year’s Regional Travel Fair (RTF), recording PHP 348.5 million in sales leads and PHP 20.67 million in closed sales by October 18. The event, organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines and held from October 18 to 20, underscored the tourism potential of Western Visayas, drawing industry leaders and invigorating domestic travel interest.

The 14th RTF gathered 65 sellers and 49 buyers for B2B sessions at the Circulo Convention Center, with representatives from Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental, who highlighted their unique cultural heritage and travel attractions. Over 5,167 business appointments took place, strengthening ties and setting new opportunities for tourism growth in Visayas.

On October 19 and 20, Business-to-Consumer (B2C) sessions at Robinsons Roxas drew around 4,000 attendees, who explored travel deals and promotions. Opening ceremonies brought together key officials, including DOT Region 6 Director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez, Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro, and Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas. The event featured local cultural performances, games, and a showcase of artisanal products and delicacies.

TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles lauded the event’s success. “The 14th Regional Travel Fair has not only driven significant sales but also inspired a greater appreciation of our rich local culture and vibrant destinations. This year’s response highlights the potential of domestic tourism to empower communities and support local businesses,” she said.

In addition to the formal sessions, RTF guests enjoyed a scenic post-event tour of Capiz’s natural and cultural sites, including the historic Pan-ay Church, a river cruise at Palina Greenbelt Ecopark, and a visit to the Banica Dried Fish Market, showcasing Capiz’s famous seafood.

The final RTF for 2024, supported by DOT Region VI, Roxas City, and the Province of Capiz, and in collaboration with partners like 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Robinsons Roxas, capped a dynamic year of promoting the diverse beauty of the Philippines’ regions. TPB remains committed to boosting local tourism and looks forward to future events that celebrate the country’s rich travel landscape.
