Mayor Gerald Guttrie “Geld” Aquino, together with officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 3, on Monday led the distribution of national social pension to 981 senior citizens in Barangay Mabiga.

Aquino announced that beginning 2026, the local government will implement its own “local social pension” program, set to benefit around 20,000 senior citizens across the city.

The initiative is part of the LGU’s commitment to expand support for the elderly sector and ensure their welfare in the coming years.
