Fifteen community kitchens have been activated to prepare and distribute 5,000 hot meals to families in Pampanga continuing to experience the effects of flooding through ‘Kusina ng Pag-asa’, a multi-stakeholder initiative of Angat Buhay that strengthens community-based food response systems.

Joining the relief effort are Urban Chick Maginhawa, Puesto Modern Mexican Comfort Food, IKIRU Japanese Kitchen and Cafe, Black Betty Diner, Maginhawa Eco-Store, Friuli Trattoria, Lorie’s Cafe, Roberta Flavors of Asia, Noki Japanese Fried Chicken, Curio MNL, Takoyakiks Sikatuna Village QC, Rocco’s Charcoal Brick Oven Pizza, Goto Believe, Chop-Chopan Maginhawa, and The Sanctuary Cafe and Bar.

The initiative aims to provide timely food assistance to families affected by the ongoing flooding while helping strengthen community-led disaster response efforts.

Angat Buhay also expressed appreciation to the Jollibee Group Foundation for standing in solidarity with the organization and affected communities as the relief response continues.

Kusina ng Pag-asa is supported by the ASA Philippines Foundation and implemented in partnership with the Maginhawa Food Community, mobilizing restaurants, community kitchens, and food-sector partners to provide timely and dignified access to hot meals during emergencies.

The initiative underscores the continuing spirit of bayanihan as communities and partner organizations work together to assist families in need.
