The Association of Local Tourism Officers–Tarlac (ALTO-Tarlac) held its 1st ALTO-Tarlac Convention on September 23, 2026, at the Old Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall in Tarlac City as part of the province’s Tourism Month celebration.

Carrying the theme “One Destination, One Direction: Strengthening Local Tourism Through Innovation and Collaboration,” the convention brought together local tourism stakeholders to promote stronger cooperation and new approaches to tourism development.

Tarlac Provincial Tourism Officer Dr. Cherrylyn M. Pascua delivered the welcome remarks, followed by the oath-taking ceremony and a message of support from Board Member Pearl E. Pacada, chairperson of the Committee on Tourism and Culture.

The morning program also featured the induction of officers from ALTO-Tarlac, the Tarlac Association of Tourism and Tourism-Oriented Organizations (TATTOO), and the hotel and accommodations sector.

The convention likewise recognized Ragsak Farm Village with a Sustainable Tourism Award, presented alongside Santa Ignacia Mayor Nathaniel Bong Tan.

Adding an educational component to the gathering was a session on “Culture and Arts as a Driver of Tourism Development,” delivered by Aris G. Madrid of TSU-COE and chairperson for Culture and Arts.

The convention underscored the role of collaboration, culture, innovation and sustainability in strengthening Tarlac’s local tourism industry.
