DTI awards livelihood kits to micro enterprises in Sasmuan
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) distributed business kits to 10 micro entrepreneurs from barangays Malusac and San Pedro in Sasmuan, Pampanga.
This is part of the agency’s Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB).
DTI Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio said each beneficiary received P10,000 worth of enhanced or start-up livelihood kit which they can use for their food or tailoring business.
LSP-NSB aims to bring government services “closest” to the people and assist existing and potential micro entrepreneurs to grow into something bigger.
“We are here because we want to update you with the different programs and services of the government. We want you to realize that the government is here for you. You just have to connect to avail of the benefits it offers,” Ordonio said.
DTI selected and evaluated the beneficiaries in coordination with Barangay Development Councils (BDCs).
Part of the event is the conduct of a business opportunity seminar, wherein DTI’s services related to business development like trainings, shared service facilities, product development, financing, and scholarship were discussed.
Aside from the distribution of kits, the beneficiaries will be continually provided with basic business advisory or information dissemination services for their growth and development through the BDC and Negosyo Center.
As of June, a total of 55 micro entrepreneurs in the province benefitted from LSP-NSB. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
