‘Walang Plastikan’ redemption booth opens at Angeles City Hall compound

Angeleños can now exchange their collected plastic for rice at the newly opened Redemption Booth of Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project at the Angeles City Hall Compound.

To bring the Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project closer to the people, Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. instructed City Engineer Donato Dizon and Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego to open a redemption booth at the City Hall Compound.

The redemption booth is open every Monday to Thursday, 8AM to 5PM.

Interested parties who wish to trade their collected plastic for rice may bring a valid ID to prove residency in Angeles City.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas reiterated that the Walang Plastikan – Plastik Palit Bigas Project aims to encourage Angeleño households to practice waste segregation at source, in their own homes, as well as to reduce if not eliminate the use of plastics. One kilo of recyclable plastics is equivalent to one kilo of rice. (Angeles City Information Office)
