The city government of Gapan offered a free Kasalang Bayan to 500 couples on Valentine’s Day at Gapan City Hall compound.

According to Mayor Emary Joy Pascual, everything needed for the wedding was provided free of charge by the local government such as the ring, wedding gown, barong and pants as well as the reception after the ceremony.

Through the program, the local government wants to show support and service to needy citizens, especially those who have been together for a long time and want to get married.

Nueva Ecija 4th District Representative Emerson Pascual also advised all the newlyweds to make God be the center of their marriage which is the most important part of married life.

Also present at the event was Vice Governor Emmanuel Antonio Umali who reminded them to maintain love and choose to fix the problems that may be experienced in the marriage.

The newlyweds also received five thousand pesos as a gift from the provincial government of Nueva Ecija. (PIA 3)
