Tarlac celebrates 7th KanLahi Festival – The Voice Newsweekly

Tarlac is celebrating this week the 7th Kanlungan ng Lahi (KanLahi) Festival, which showcases the province’s culture, traditions, and people.

Provincial Tourism Office Chief Arsenio Lugay II said they have prepared “leveled-up” activities this year, after two years of toned-down revelry due to the pandemic.

“The festival this year is part of the celebration of the 150th Founding Anniversary of Tarlac,” Lugay added.

The activity opened today, March 6, with a Mass at Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador, opening of Agri-Cultura Exhibit at Centro Organico, KanLahi Cook Fair at Rotary Lane, Job Fair at Bulwagang KanLahi, Bonsai Exhibit at Centro Organico, Tarlac National Art Competition at Diwa ng Tarlac, and Street Dancing Competition.

Day 2 activities include Paralympics at Jose V. Yap Sports and Recreational Complex, Fruit/Vegetable Decorating and Carving Contest at Diwa ng Tarlac, KanLahi Cook Fair at Rotary Lane, and Ballroom Dancing at Bulwagang KanLahi.

KanLahi Cook Fair continues on Day 3 along with Zumba Extravaganza at Bulwagang KanLahi and Ginoong KanLahi at Maria Cristina Park. 

Day 4 activities, on the other hand, are KanLahi Food Fair at Rotary Lane, Cheerdance Competition at Centro Mercato, and Binibining KanLahi at Maria Cristina Park.

The KanLahi Food Fair continues on Day 5 along with the Bamboo Arts and Crafts Design Contest at Capitol Center, and KanLahi Music Festival at Maria Cristina Park. 

There will be a Car and Motor Show at Centro Mercato and Pyromusical on Day 6 while the festival wraps up on Day 7 with a Tambay Serye at the Circuit Hill of Tarlac Recreational Park. (PIA 3)
