Globe Telecom has made history as the first recipient of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) Golden Arrow Hall of Fame Award after earning Five Golden Arrows for five consecutive years, reaffirming its commitment to corporate governance excellence.
The recognition was presented during the Golden Arrow Awards 2026, where Globe received the highest distinction for publicly listed companies in the Philippines for its sustained adherence to corporate governance standards.
Representing Globe at the ceremony were Atty. Nina Mikaela S. Tacandong, Legal Counsel for Corporate Governance Services; Atty. Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President for Legal and Compliance; and Atty. Patricia O. Hernandez, Legal Counsel for Compliance and Governance.
Ciocson-Co described the recognition as a significant milestone that reflects the company’s consistent commitment to corporate governance principles and best practices. She said the five consecutive years of recognition demonstrate Globe’s determination to integrate a strong governance culture into its business operations.
The award recognizes Globe’s performance under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), which assesses publicly listed companies based on shareholder rights, transparency, board accountability, sustainability, and resilience.
The Five Golden Arrows distinction is reserved for publicly listed companies that score at least 115 points under the assessment. Globe’s achievement for five straight years highlights its continued adherence to rigorous governance requirements under the updated ACGS framework, which aligns with the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance.
The framework places greater emphasis on transparency, digital governance, sustainability, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration.
Globe’s latest achievement builds on a history of corporate governance recognitions dating back to 2012, when it became the only telecommunications company recognized at the Philippine Stock Exchange Bell Awards for Excellence in Corporate Governance.
The company has since received additional distinctions, including recognition among the Top 20 Publicly Listed Companies in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards and as a top-performing publicly listed company in the Philippines.
Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz said the company’s commitment to responsible corporate governance is rooted in its purpose of treating people right and creating a Globe of Good.
He emphasized that protecting shareholder rights, maintaining transparency, ensuring accountability, and taking responsibility for the services customers depend on remain central to the company’s governance practices.
The recognition also reflects the broader governance efforts within the Ayala Group, as Ayala Corporation and the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) likewise received Five Golden Arrows in 2026.
For Globe, the Hall of Fame distinction underscores the role of strong corporate governance in promoting responsible innovation, supporting sustainable growth, and strengthening long-term business performance.
