The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Tuesday confirmed that 10,155,144 residents have registered to the Philippine Identification System as of June 2024.
This was bared by PSA Central Luzon Regional Director Arlene Divino during the simultaneous Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 23.
Based on records, Divino said 70 percent of citizens 1 to 4 years of age or 83,020 of the total population have also registered to the civil registration system.
Divino said in Central Luzon, 61 percent of the national identification IDs were already delivered, while 34 percent were issued temporary IDs.
This month, Divino added, the agency has launched a house-to-house registration system to make sure that each individual is registered to PhilSys.
“Our aim is to capture everyone on time that’s why we are encouraging each individual to register to our barangay agents who will be going house to house,” Divino furthered.
PSA 3 launched the house-to-house registration to target in particular those in the 4Ps program who lack identification in six provinces which include Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Bataan, Nueva Ecija and Aurora.
She said that since the launch of the birth certificate registration assistance project in 2022, 98.6 percent have already registered. – Via Pampanga Press Club
