RESCUE OLYMPICS

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on July 30, 2024 led the opening ceremony of the Rescue Olympics 2024 at the Infinity Grounds. This event is part of the celebration of the 36th National Disaster Resilience Month.

Mayor Lazatin was joined by Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rudy Simeon, and Department of the Interior and Local Government—Angeles City Director Yvette Cosio.

The Rescue Olympics aims to enhance preparedness levels through competitions among barangays and schools, focusing on basic life support and first aid.
Among the participants for the barangay category are Barangays Pulungbulu, Lourdes Northwest, Cuayan, Sto. Rosario, Pandan, Margot, and Sto. Domingo.

For the school category, the participants are Angeles City Senior High School – Pandan, Gov. Rafael L. Lazatin Integrated School Rescue Team, and Bonifacio V. Romero High School Rescue Team.

The champions from the barangay and school categories will each receive P50,000 cash prize, trophy, medals, and trauma bag; while the 1st runner-up will get P40,000; P30,000 for the 2nd runner-up; and P20,000 for 3rd runner-up.

Mayor Lazatin also gave an additional P50,000 cash prize to the overall champion.
