A total of 96 applicants were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the simultaneous job fairs organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) across Central Luzon.
The HOTS were among 1,583 job seekers who attended the job-matching events in the cities of San Fernando (Pampanga), Cabanatuan, and Olongapo. The fairs offered nearly 9,400 job vacancies from 109 participating companies.
DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio highlighted that the job fairs are part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to provide more accessible, fair, and sustainable employment opportunities.

“We are moving closer to achieving the lowest unemployment rate, which dropped to 3.2% in November 2024, down from 3.6% in the same month of 2023. This is why it’s crucial for us to continue connecting job seekers with employers,” she said.
Panlilio also announced plans for monthly nationwide job fairs aimed at further reducing unemployment.
“DOLE remains committed to connecting job seekers and employers to build a stronger, more inclusive labor market,” she added.
One of the applicants hired on the spot, Charles Manalansan from Floridablanca, Pampanga, landed a position as a sales clerk.
“I didn’t expect to be hired so quickly. It only took a few minutes after sitting down. This job fair is a huge help, and I’m very thankful,” Manalansan shared.
Additionally, 45 local sellers participated in the event’s Kadiwa ng Pangulo initiative, offering affordable agricultural products and other commodities to the community.
