MDPPA reaches over 1,000 Filipinos in push for Safer Roads in 1st Half of 2025

The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) is driving home the message of road safety, reaching 1,088 individuals from schools, local governments, and riding communities across the country in the first half of 2025 alone.

Through its ongoing Road Safety Seminars, MDPPA has empowered students, technical-vocational trainees, traffic enforcers, city employees, and motorcycle riders with vital knowledge on responsible road behavior and defensive riding practices.

The year kicked off strong with back-to-back sessions at the University of Makati. On February 13, 65 students from the College of Business and Financial Science and the Institute of Imaging Health Sciences joined the first wave of learning. A second session on February 27 gathered 345 students from seven colleges for a larger-scale seminar, reinforcing the value of road safety in civic education.

On April 25, MDPPA brought the same advocacy to future technical professionals at Dualtech Training Center Foundation Inc., where 155 tech-voc students were trained in the fundamentals of safe and responsible road use.

The seminars then reached key members of the transport sector. On May 15, 139 traffic enforcers from Quezon City’s Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) underwent training to sharpen their understanding of traffic discipline, direction, and accident prevention.

A joint Road Safety Week event with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) followed on May 20 at Bulwagan Hall in Quezon City. Seventy-seven motorcycle riders received practical lessons in defensive riding, road signage interpretation, and managing emotions while driving.

Just two days later, another large seminar in Quezon City welcomed 232 participants, including LGU employees and riders, further embedding a culture of safety within the city.

On June 12, MDPPA capped its first-half efforts in partnership with the Tanay LGU, where 75 residents attended a localized seminar that emphasized community safety and responsible riding behavior.

These milestone activities reflect MDPPA’s deepening commitment to its advocacy—shaping a mindset where safety is second nature to every road user.

“Through these seminars, we are not just imparting knowledge, we’re helping build a safety-first mindset that crosses generations and rider profiles,” said MDPPA Road Safety Committee Chairperson Michael Lopez. “Our programs continue to evolve with the times as we work to serve today’s growing motorcycle community and pave the way for safer roads.”

With more seminars already lined up for the rest of the year, MDPPA remains steadfast in its mission: creating safer journeys for all—one rider, one road at a time.
