BOC intercepts ₱2.4-M worth of Ecstasy, other drugs Smuggled Drugs at Clark Port

The Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Airport Interdiction Unit (PDEA-AIU), has intercepted a shipment of prohibited drugs worth ₱2.444 million in a package falsely declared as “animal food.”

The parcel arrived from Paris, France on June 22, 2025, and was bound for Quezon City. Customs examiners flagged the shipment due to suspicious documentation. A K-9 sweep and joint inspection revealed 1,003 Ecstasy tablets, 106 grams of Cathinone (a synthetic stimulant), and 116 grams of crystalline Ketamine.

Chemical analysis by PDEA confirmed the contents as dangerous drugs under Republic Act No. 9165. A Warrant of Seizure and Detention has since been issued, citing violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

“This operation reflects the Port of Clark’s unwavering vigilance in preventing the entry of illegal drugs,” said BOC-Clark District Collector Jairus S. Reyes.

The BOC emphasized that the operation aligns with the national campaign to strengthen border control and safeguard public safety.
